Ophelia's Intoxication of Moonlight (2002)

Not For Sale - Artist's Collection

I spent the good part of nine months working on Ophelia. While on a Carribbean cruise in 2001, my husband and I spent an evening drinking scotch and smoking cigars in a dimly lit piano lounge, on a night when the sea was particularly rough. We listened to a very talented lady play "Moonlight Sonata"and I was moved by the absolutely inspirational moment. I had to put it down on paper.

Vam The Pirate's Trebuchet (2003)

I became enthralled with the medieval contraption called a trebuchet and did some online research to build this one. The piano is a French Provincial, which our man Vam is setting on fire in order to launch ...aiming for the universe that lies inside the dreamcatcher.

I decided to keep some white space in this piece in order to preserve an ethereal vastness that I saw. Like a thick mist in the background.

I had hoped that the detail and color would have come across a little better - digitally - but because of the size of the piece, it was a little more difficult.

Approximately 18 x 25

Anthem of Consoulation (2004)

With the concept focused on the key word soul, the mourner's deceased lover stands over her in an otherworldly surrounding with the dramatic irony being that only you and I are aware that he is there.

In this I tried to use white space to emphasize contrast and allow the viewer to focus on the important objects.

Approximately 24 x 15
