I sliced the title for this piece out of a sentence spoken by author Christopher Hitchens from his audiobook God Is Not Great. As a non-literalistic believer, I think it is not only healthy but 100% necessary to question. Doubt is a virtue. I've personally been allowed a couple of inexplicably high-def, life-moving epiphaneia which I contend were so powerful because I DID feel them rather than see them.

Growing up I was told: "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see" which begs the question: how deep into doubt should one wade when it comes to what they feel? What is left once we cease to believe ourselves and our intuitions? With this piece I intended to ignite these questions, especially that of the "known unseen".

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” – Roald Dahl
